Les peres francais de Yuli

This exhibition takes Yuli as an example to introduce a group of priests from France who came to Hualien in the early days of Taiwan restoration . Through their missionary work, they brought Western resources, healthcare, and education, silently caring for underserved areas that lacked access to these resources. Today, Yuli is not only an important rice storage and agricultural town in Taiwan but also a popular vacation destination. By comparing present-day conditions with recorded photographs from the past, it is evident that the efforts of these French priests have contributed to the improvement of Yuli in terms of its economic status, preservation of traditional culture, and living environment.
