Friendly and Accessible Activities

Services for the Visually Impaired

To put into practice concepts of friendly and accessible museums, the Naturalist Center provides specimen exploration activities for the visually impaired that involve the senses of touch and hearing. 

  1. Exploring exhibited specimens: Auditory guides (QR code) and Braille explanatory signboards have been developed for selected specimens. (To use this service, please contact a staff member at the Naturalist Center information desk.)
  2. Exploring specimen activities: Specimen-based lesson plans for the visually impaired have been developed for selected themes. (Advance reservation is required, please see the instructions below.)
