Euploea phaenareta juviaThere is a special holiday dedicated to honor museums and their workers ─ the International Museum Day. The International Council of Museums (ICOM) established International Museum Day in 1977 to increase public awareness of the role of museums in the development of society. For the past 37 years, museums around the world have celebrated May 18 as International Museum Day. This year, the theme of the International Museum Day will be Museums (memory + creativity) = social change. Our rich heritage, which museums both display and protect, is associated with inventiveness and vitality, both of which have characterized the museum sector in recent years and are museums’ greatest strengths. Join the celebration! Visit the National Museum of Natural Science during the month of May. The Museum will celebrate the International Museum Day by:

  • Offering free admission to the exhibit halls. (Space Theater, 3D Theater and ticketing exhibitions are excluded.) May 18
  • Hosting “2013 × 518 “ natural science activities to help show kids the fun side of learning. From easy activities to more advanced experiments, we’ve got you covered.
