Grandparents are our heritage and are essential members of our families and communities. Taiwan’s premier, Wu Dun-yi, has instructed the Ministry of Education, ROC to consider setting up a national Grandparents Day to honor grandparents and to strengthen the bond between grandparents and grandchildren. The MOE then designated the “final” Sunday of August as National Grandparents Day. It is selected on a non-work day so that it will not affect production and industrial development.
It is the first anniversary of Grandparents Day in Taiwan. Many people must honor their elders through a range of activities such as gift-giving and card-giving. Giving grandparents gifts or cards is lovely, but why not create “a memory” – an enjoyable, memorable experience for you and your grandparents? Invite your grandparents to the Museum for a day where you and your grandparents participate in our fun and educational special events related to butterflies and minerals. The events are free and are a guaranteed great time.
The Museum tour on Grandparents Day would be the greatest gift your grandparents can receive from you!
