The meaning behind the NMNS logo:
The choice of the Museum's logo reflects
the core values of the broad range of natural science research at the Museum and
graphically captures the essence of the Museum --- namely, to inspire people
around the country through science. The two "S" looking like young
sprouts of a plant form a bull's head, which symbolize the spirit of infinite
life and power existed in the universe and the diligent spirits of scientists.
Central in the embrace of the bull's head is the plum blossom, the national
flower, representing the determined spirit of a public organization. It is
our hope that though this logo is a very simple picture of the Museum's beliefs
and values it may be a inspiring symbol of the Museum to all
people.
