The National Museum of Natural Science was founded on January 1, 1986. Since then, the whole staff has been affirming the following statement of mission:
Our goal at the National Museum of Natural Science is to collect and preserve the biological and cultural diversity in Taiwan and neighboring countries. We aim to stimulate the public’s interest in the natural sciences and world cultures through creating engaging exhibits and educational programs. We are committed to the expansion of our international exchange of exhibits, research, and collections, which allow us to enrich our institution, and contribute to the study of museums through publications.
