Hubble 3D --- Change Your View of Our Universe
The Hubble Space Telescope (HST) is a NASA space telescope that was carried into orbit by a space shuttle in 1990. Hubble Space Telescope, named after Edwin Hubble, the California astronomer who discovered the expansion of the universe, is one of the most significant instruments in the history of astronomy.
Hubble images come to vast, three-dimensional life in the new IMAX movie, “Hubble 3D”, that takes audiences through the telescope’s 20-year existence and puts them in orbit 350 miles above Earth with astronauts during the latest servicing mission.
Vividly captured in IMAX 3D, Hubble 3D recounts the amazing journey of the most important scientific instrument since Galileo’s original telescope. The film’s goal is to make viewers feel as though they are voyaging through the cosmos, seeing through Hubble’s eyes, and peering over the shoulders of astronauts as they work on the telescope – providing an intimacy and immediacy beyond the reach of static images. Audiences will experience the gripping story –- full of hope, crushing disappointment, dazzling ingenuity, and triumph –- in the awe-inspiring film. Audience will accompany the space walking astronauts as they attempt some of the most challenging tasks ever performed in NASA’s history, and will experience up close the awesome power of the launches and the heartbreaking setbacks. Hubble 3D will also allow audiences to explore the wonders and beauty of our universe, such as the grandeur of the nebulae and galaxies, the birth and death of stars, and some of the greatest mysteries of our celestial surroundings.
For once, the old cliche is true: This film has to be seen to be believed.
Hubble 3D is an IMAX and Warner Bros. Pictures production, in cooperation with National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
