::: Schools Outreach

To expand educational functions of the Museum and reinforce its communication with schools, the Museum brings entertaining yet educational activities to schools and holds the activities right on the campus to stimulate students and teachers' interest in science. For 2003-2004, one-day activities were held in elementary and junior high schools in a number of cities in central Taiwan. In addition, activities were also held in special education schools for children with special needs. Through September to June of the following year, the Museum's staff send teaching aids and associated equipment to schools and hold activities right on the campus. There are two kinds of activities that can be delivered to schools, science demonstrations and hands-on activities. In 2003, a total of 316 activities were held on campus, with 33,687 participants, and 346 activities with 35,418 participants in 2004.
