Dendrocnide meyeniana is an evergreen, small or medium-sized tree with truncate crown. Branchlets, leaves, petioles and inflorescences are covered with 2 kinds of hairs, one minute and the other long and stinging. Ovate or elliptic leaves are clustered at end of branches. They are poisonous. The plant is distributed in thickets and forests at low altitudes in the central, southern, eastern Taiwan, and Is. Lutao.
