Pongamia pinnata is a medium-sized, deciduous tree. Leaves are odd-pinnate with 5-7 oblong to ovate leaflets. Flower is light purple. Pods are woody, slightly falcate, and turgid. The plant scatters along the seashores throughout Taiwan and is often cultivated in gardens.
