Quercus glauca is an evergreen tree. Leaves are alternate, obovate-oblong to broadly elliptic, green and polished above, glaucous beneath. The margin is serrate. Cupules are cup-like, silky hairy outside, with scales in 7-10 concentric rings. The nut is oblong to globose.
