Heritiera littoralis is a medium-sized tree. Bark is grayish, and leaves are elliptic to oblong, silvery scaly beneath. Fruit is compressed-oblong and strongly keeled of a spongy pericarp. It floats and spreads by ocean currents. The plant is distributed along coasts in northern and southern Taiwan.
