Introduction

From October to April each year, northeast monsoon winds flow from the Central Mountain Range and descend onto the Hengchun Peninsula, forming strong katabatic winds, which is a rare geographical phenomenon. Wind has no odor or color and sometimes comes and goes without a trace. Turbines are powered by such natural pressure differences. Yet, we cannot hold onto the wind. I photographed the tracks left behind by katabatic winds, including swirls, straight lines, and staggered patterns.
