擬態是大自然最令人讚嘆的生物現象之一，而珊瑚礁中的蝦蟹類是其中的佼佼者。扁異蟹隨著棲息的珊瑚，逐漸發展出幾乎與珊瑚融為一體的外觀質感。觀察美麗的珊瑚時，極難發現牠的存在，更讓我們對生物界的千變萬化感到驚奇。
Mimicry is one of the most amazing biological phenomena in nature, as evidenced by various shrimps and crabs that inhabit coral reefs. The depressed spider crab looks so much like its coral host that it almost perfectly blends in with the background. Even up close it is difficult to find this crab. This keeps us in awe of the diversity of the biological world.
