Blue-ringed octopuses have a leopard-like pattern, except for the blue rings, and belong to the genus Hapalochlaena. They are known to be highly venomous. Currently, the toxicity of the species found in the waters off Australia has been confirmed, while that of the species found in the waters around Taiwan has not.
