偏振鏡由兩片光學玻璃,夾著一片有定向作用的微小偏光性質晶體(如雲母)組成。還有另一種製造方法:在兩片光學玻璃之間的夾層,塗上聚乙烯膜或聚乙烯氰一類的結晶物。這一聚合物塗層,可產生極細的柵欄狀的結構,好像是一道細密的柵欄,只允許振動方向與縫隙相同的光通過,再將這兩片玻璃各自獨立地安裝在可以旋轉的環圈裡。如此一來,藉由旋轉其中一個鏡片,便可消除被攝物體表面的偏振反射光,通過偏振光,可以把透明材料的干涉顏色拍出來。
A polarizer consists of two pieces of optical glass around crystals with micro-polarization properties (such as mica) and directional effect. There is an alternative method for producing a polarizer. The layer between two pieces of optical glass can be coated with polyethylene film or polyacrylonitrile polymer resin. Such coating produces a fine fence-like structure, which only allows light with the same vibrational direction and gap to pass through. The two pieces of glass are then independently installed on a rotatable ring. By rotating one of the lenses, the polarized reflected light on the surface of the object is eliminated. A polarizer reduces the interference of colors from transparent materials.
