A special exhibition entitled "Blessings in the Palm - Anthurium Flower Exhibition” opens in July 2024 to mark the 25th anniversary of the Botanical Garden of the National Museum of Natural Science. The anthurium flower, which resembles the palm of a hand with a cylindrical spadix rising like a candle in the center, symbolizes enthusiasm, care, and blessing. In the Taiwanese (Hokkien) dialect, the word for this flower sounds like "huhao," which signifies smooth and wonderful outcomes in all endeavors.

Three prominent companies from Puli Town in Nantou County, Young-sun Horticulture Co., Ltd., Yongsong Horticulture Co., Ltd., and Good Horticulture Co., Ltd., have provided high-quality potted flowers for this exhibition. Anthuriums are displayed alongside caladiums and other foliage plants, creating a festive atmosphere.

Additionally, this exhibition features new anthurium varieties developed by the Taiwan Agricultural Research Institute and the Kaohsiung District Agricultural Research and Extension Station, highlighting local advancements in plant variety rights and protection.
