Collections by the Number
In addition to developing exhibitions, an important task of this museum is the collection of national resources and data to enhance academic research and support exhibitions and education. Due to limited space and human resources, this museum’s collection started from scratch. In the year (1983) that collection efforts began, there were only 312 items. As the museum has expanded, its collection has gradually become richer and more diverse. Through collection, donations, purchases, and exchanges over 28 years (as of 2010), the collection has increased to more than one million items, with stable annual growth, laying a solid foundation for the museum’s continued collection efforts and academic research.
