Archaeology of Fanziyuan Culture-In search of the ancestors of the Pingpu people in central Taiwan
Nowadays, most of Taiwan's inhabitants are Han people and the indigenous peoples are minorities. The ancestors of the Han people migrated from mainland China approximately 3-400 years ago. However, before this human movement, the indigenous peoples had lived on this island for thousands of years. Since the indigenous peoples did not invent writings, our understanding of their material cultures is primarily based on archaeological discoveries.
