Clothing of Amis Males

Males

a. Everyday clothing: Usually a ramie cloth, animal skin or wool yarn shirt with or without sleeves was worn, along with a loincloth or leggings that could be tied around the waist.

b.Formal attire: Males wore agate, copper bells, yarn and feather ornaments, cap, leggings that could be tied around the waist, woolen short shirt or long shirt, as well as tassels and lover's bag. The males followed an age organization. As such, the annual coming-of-age rites were very important to Amis males. During these rites, they wore feather cap, neckband, ear ornaments, chest cloth, wraparound skirt, leggings that could be tied around the waist and sash.
