Acer buergerianum var. formosanum
Originally, Acer buergerianum var. formosanum was only found along part of the northern coast and stream banks, near Wanli and Keelung, in Taiwan. It is used in landscaping due to its beautifully-shaped leaves. This species was planted in Taiwan's lowlands early on. Moreover, this maple tree species is well suited to the high temperatures on the lowlands. In the fall, as it may not be cold enough, not all of the leaves turn red. In the fall and winter, samaras can be seen swaying in the wind.
