Takydromus sauteri
The Koshun grass lizard is endemic to Taiwan and was first described by American herpetologist John van Denburgh in 1909, who named it in honor of zoologist Hans Sauter. The Koshun grass lizard is the only green grass lizard in Taiwan. Females are turquoise with brownish-green mottling on the limbs and a white line along each side from the snout to the base of the tail. Along the upper edges of the white line is a brown edge or band. Some males are mostly brown with only the head appearing green. The tail is extremely long, more than four times the body length, making it one of the longest tailed grass lizards. They have four pairs of chin shields and one pair of femoral pores. Their distribution is mainly in southern and eastern Taiwan, as well as on Orchid Island.
