Description: Rim fragment of large, open mouth, pointed lip jar.
Dimensions: Mouth diameter nearly 400 mm; weight 327.9 g, neck length 60 mm.
Materials: Orange pressed fine sand pottery
Condition: 1/5 rim, belly missing.
Mouth diameter is 40 cm. This is a somewhat large jar for the Fantzuyuan Culture. This type of large jar, occasionally found in the Fantzuyuan Culture, mainly features open mouth with large extroverted angle along the rim. The neck is relatively long. The surface is covered with shallow fine-toothed comb pattern. Orange red pottery is relatively rare in the Fantzuyuan Culture. This specimen was excavated from the lowest gray black clay soil layer of the TP5 test pit. It belongs at the base of the cultural layer, accompanied by CS.SKW-2015-PT085 gray brown impressed pattern pottery jar, which is part of the same pottery group.
