This was collected while carrying out monitoring work in 2014. In the soil block above where this iron tool was excavated there was a shell. This indicates that this iron shovel may have been excavated from the shell mound layer. This iron shovel was sent to the Department of Art History of Tainan National University of the Arts to carry out restoration. It underwent rust removal, cleaning and sealing. As the excavated iron shovel is very brittle it must be stored in a space where humidity and temperature are strictly controlled. This makes exhibiting this artifact a great challenge as humidity must be constantly checked. As this is a collected item it is used to support exhibitions.
