Han Cavalier

This is known as hong hua zai (literally red flower young male) in traditional puppet theater. The red face represents bravery and uprightness and this is classified as a dahua role. The lack of facial hair means that this is a young man. The headgear is a sloping cap, also called a sloping headwrap, as it slants toward one side. In general, it is worn by Han cavaliers or heroes. It is adorned with yarn balls that move and become obvious during martial arts fight scenes.
