Tea Classic

No matter if talking about Taiwanese tea or Chinese tea, the starting point is Lu Yu’s Tea Classic. China’s tea drinking culture most likely began in the Western Han dynasty and was comprehensively practiced by the Tang dynasty. The Tea Classic covers topics such as the production, cultivation, and processing of tea, as well as the items and methods and even the type of water used to brew tea. It also includes the history, cultural significance, and aesthetics of tea drinking. Tea utensils and the ritual of brewing and serving tea are also explained. Over more than 1,200 years, various “tea ceremonies” have been derived from it.
