The natural enemy of sea stars, the giant triton - Charonia tritonis

The giant triton, with its beautiful shell, can reach up to 40 cm in length. Its shell was used as a horn by pirates to signal that it was time to set sail. To the giant trition, sea stars are delicacies.

As the giant triton has become protected, crown-of-thorns sea stars can no longer be coral killers. It has been said that if you hold up its empty shell to your ear, you can hear the sound of the ocean. Oh, I really heard it. But, in actuality, it is the echo of flowing air.
