Graphium weiskei
The purple spotted swallowtail is a member of the subgenus Idaides. It is very colorful and found only in the high mountains of New Guinea. Wingspan is 5-6 cm. Its wings are black with grass green, aqua blue, pink, and purple markings. The larvae feed on Dryododaphne crassa in the family Monimiaceae, Cryptocarya sp. in the family Lauraceae, and some plants in the family Rutaceae (Citrus, Zanthoxylum, Euodia, Phellodendron). The genus Graphium began to diverge around the Oligocene-Miocene.
