Papilio polymnestor
The Blue Mormon butterfly is a member of the subgenus Princeps. This species is endemic to India and Sri Linka, diverging around the late Miocene. Wingspan is 11-15 cm. The outer margins of the forewings are black with gradually narrowing ash blue stripes. The hindwings are ash blue with two rows of black markings. The larvae feed on plants in the family Rutaceae, such as those of the genus Atalantia, as well as orangeberry (Glycosmis arborea), climbing atalantia (Paramignya monophyla), pomelo (Citrus maxima), lemon (Citrus limon), and other Citrus spp.
