Papilio androgeus
The queen swallowtail is a member of the subgenus Heraclides, which diverged around the late Oligocene-early Miocene, with three subspecies. Distribution is in Central and South America in the Neotropical realm. Wingspan is 13-14 cm. The hindwings are narrow with pointed wavy margins. Males and females have completely different coloring. Males have broad yellow bands while females only have two spots. The hindwings are blue. Larvae feed on Zanthoxylum elephantiasis, Citrus reticulata (mandarin orange), and Citrus sinensis (sweet orange).
