Pharmacological properties: Tastes slightly bitter, cold in nature.
Functions and indications: Clears heat, detoxifies, removes dampness, and stops bleeding. Mainly used to treat hot flashes induced by cold/flu, cough, sore throat, enteritis, dystentery, hepatitis, leucorrhea due to heat and dampness, swelling and toxicity of carbuncles, ulcers or sores, mumps, burns, poisonous snake bites, bite from a rabid animal, eczema, hematemesis, hematuria, hematochezia, and bleeding from wounds.
