Taiwan kukri snake
Diet: The diet of the Taiwan kukri snake (Oligodon formosanus) consists of reptile eggs. Moreover, this snake only eats eggs with shells of elastic quality, such as those of the long-tailed sun skink, South China forest skink and green sea turtle. It does not eat gecko eggs due to the hard shells. These snakes use their sharp teeth to cut open the shells and then suck out the contents. However, they may swallow smaller eggs whole.
Coloring: There is a V-shaped mark along the neck. Along the back is a thin red stripe that ends at the tail region.
Habitat: These snakes are mostly found in areas of forest, farmland and sisal hemp cultivation.
Movement: These snakes do not move very fast. However, they have a very good sense of smell. It is very easy to find these snakes in areas where reptiles have laid eggs. They have strong grasping and climbing abilities, thus they have been seen moving along rock faces
Reproduction: The reproductive behaviors and processes of this species are unclear (3-6 eggs).
