Multi-keeled mabuya
Diet: As the multi-keeled mabuya (Mabuya multicarinata) mainly inhabits areas under trees or piles of fallen leaves or decaying plants, its diet consists of insects and invertebrate animals that prefer the same habitats. Further clarification of this species' diet is pending.
Characteristics: This lizard is not as large as Mabuya longicaudata and the keeled scales are not as smooth. The color is lighter than that of Mabuya cumingi. At first sight, it may be mistaken for juvenile Mabuya longicaudata.
Habitat: The habitats of this species almost completely overlap with those of Mabuya longicaudata. However, it cannot compete, and thus inhabits areas under trees and along forest margins.
Movement: Although it is not as large as Mabuya longicaudata, it is extremely quick and is a master tree climber. It has the same level of sensitivity as Mabuya longicaudata. If a breeze moves the grass, it will immediately bore into a pile of fallen leaves, climb a tree or hide on rock face.
Reproduction: The reproduction process of this species is not well understood. From research studies, 2-4 eggs are laid at one time.
