Ganoderma lingzhi

This species is also known as the lingzhi or reishi mushroom. It is cultivated throughout East Asia. In the wild, it is found in China, Korea and Japan. This species forms fruiting bodies at the base of trees, mainly in forests dominated by the Family Fagaceaea. It has anti-tumor properties and has been used to protect and detoxify the liver. This mushroom has also been shown to maintain cardiovascular health, slow the aging process, prevent neurasthenia, reduce high blood pressure and blood sugar, improve chronic bronchitis, relieve coughing, improve expectoration, alleviate asthma and treat allergies.
