This stout camphor fungus species is endemic to Taiwan. In the wild, it only grows on the trunks of camphor trees. It is very expensive. In Taiwan, camphor fungus products are produced and this is an important part of the biotech industry. This fungus can reduce inflammation and has anti-cancer, liver protective and anti-hypertensive properties. It is an antioxidant, as well as used to lower triglycerides and dispel alcohol.
