Ganoderma sinense

This species is distributed in areas of high temperature and abundant rainfall south of China's Yangtze River, including Taiwan. Its cap is purplish black or nearly black. In the Traditional Chinese Medicine pharmacopoeia, this medicinal fungus has been recorded as having immune strengthening properties. It has also been used to reduce high blood pressure and high triglycerides, as well as treat chronic bronchitis. It can protect the liver, slow down the aging process and protect against neurasthenia.
