The host plants of the straightline royal butterfly (Tajuria diaeus karenkonis Matsumura, 1929) larvae are Loranthus delavayi Van Tiegh, Loranthus kaoi (Chao) Kiu, Loranthus liquidambaricolus Hayata, and Taxillus lonicerifolius (Hayata) Chiu in the family Loranthaceae. Females lay eggs on flowers and young leaves. The eggs are white and hemispherical with ridges on the surface. The larvae are light yellow to light green, thicker along the anterior half and narrower along the posterior half of the body. The larvae feed on the flowers and young leaves of the host plant. Mature larvae pupate on the leaves of the host plant or nearby plant. The pupae are brown with green markings and have a unique shape.
