日常生活中便有機會觀察到螢光生物。擬旋刺馬陸是一種體長小於3公分的常見馬陸，這種馬陸族群在都會區環境相當普遍，牠們的卵或蟲體也時常被夾帶於園藝用培養土中傳播。已知擬旋刺馬陸在波長介於約365~410 nm的紫外線照射下，體表會發散出淡藍色螢光。只要運用紫外線手電筒，在黑暗中便可以輕易觀察到馬陸身上的螢光。

There are opportunities to see fluorescent organisms in daily life. Pseudospirobolellus avernus is a common round-backed millipede with a body length of less than 3 centimeters. It is widespread in urban environments. These arthropods or their eggs are often hidden in gardening soil and thus can be easily transported to different locations. Under ultraviolet light at a wavelength of 365-410 nm, this millipede exhibits light blue fluorescence along the surface of its body. In a dark environment and with an ultraviolet flashlight, this phenomenon can be easily observed.
