夜光游水母（Pelagia noctiluca）是一種顏色美麗的生物，又因含有螢光蛋白所以會在夜裡發光。而美麗的外表下卻帶著有毒的刺細胞。但有些小魚會與水母形成共生關係，利用水母的毒刺當作保護傘，防禦掠食者的攻擊；小魚也會頂著水母主導宿主的游動方向。

The mauve stinger (Pelagia noctiluca) is a beautiful jellyfish that glows in the dark owing to the presence of fluorescent proteins. With its beautiful appearance, the jellyfish is equipped with venomous cnidocytes (stinging cells). However, some fish have developed symbiotic relationships with this kind of jellyfish, using the jellyfish’s stinging cells as a shield against predators. The fish can also control the host’s movements by swimming inside it.

篝火攝影利用潛水燈吸引浮游生物及趨光性生物聚集。於夜晚潛水拍攝一般白天較不常見的生物幼體。拍攝過程必須控制中性浮力與被攝物維持在同一深度，並調節閃燈角度減少畫面中懸浮物的產生。
