自然界中的大戲莫過於捕食者與獵物間的生態劇場。三角蟹蛛（Thomisus labefactus）擁有高超的偽裝能力，能在花朵間靜默守候，等待獵物毫無防備地靠近。淡紋青斑蝶在花間飛舞，卻不曾察覺到危險逼近，最終成為三角蟹蛛的獵物。牠使用其前肢迅速抓住淡紋青斑蝶，並注入毒液與消化液使其身體癱瘓與組織分解，然後開始吸取蝴蝶體內的營養。在這場捕食行為中，三角蟹蛛的偽裝與捕食技巧充分展示了自然界中的弱肉強食。這場命運的交會，是大自然平衡法則的一部分。

Nature’s greatest drama is that between predator and prey. The masked crab spider (Thomisus labefactus) is exceptional at camouflaging itself. It lies in wait for its prey, hidden among blossoms. A blue tiger butterfly flits among the flowers, oblivious to the danger, and ultimately falls prey to it. The spider quickly grasps the butterfly with its forelimbs, paralyzes it with venom, and injects digestive enzymes that break down the tissues before ingesting the butterfly’s nutrients. During this act of predation, the masked crab spider’s camouflage and hunting skills demonstrate nature’s law of survival of the fittest. This fateful encounter reveals nature’s principle of balance.
