一些肉食性椿象捕食時，會利用其像虎克船長手鉤般的前足，以類似格鬥的方式擒抱獵物，再將尖銳口器刺入獵物身體，注入具有毒性的唾液使其麻痹。其唾液中的酵素會分解並液化獵物組織，椿象進而吸食這些體外消化後的液體；整個獵食過程效率極高。肉食性椿象主要以各種昆蟲為食，是生態系中重要的捕食者，亦被部分農業單位作為害蟲的防治方法。

Some predatory stink bugs use their forelegs, which resemble Captain Hook’s prosthetic hook, to subdue and capture their prey. They then pierce the prey’s body with their sharp mouthparts and inject venomous saliva to paralyze it. Enzymes in the saliva break down and liquefy the prey’s tissues, after which the stink bug sucks up the externally digested fluids. This entire predation process is extremely efficient. Predatory stink bugs mainly feed on various insects and are important predators in ecosystems. Certain agricultural organizations also use them as a biological control method against pest insects.
