入冬後，多數的昆蟲已不再活躍；然而在臺灣中部的中海拔山區，卻有一種特別的昆蟲，選擇在這樣的季節裡求偶繁殖，牠們是鋸角雪螢。有別於夏季活動的黑翅螢，鋸角雪螢所發出的光可持續好幾秒鐘，在漆黑的夜裡劃出一道淺綠色的光線。我利用長曝光記錄螢火蟲發出的光軌，並在快門結束前一刻以閃燈凍結其飛行姿態，得到這張猶如在空中跳彩帶舞的鋸角雪螢。

With the arrival of winter, most insects become inactive. However, in the mid-altitude regions of central Taiwan, one special insect chooses to mate and reproduce during this season—the snowy window firefly (Diaphanes lampyroides). Unlike the species Abscondita cerata, which is active in summer, the bioluminescence of Diaphanes lampyroides can persist for several seconds, resulting in a pale green streak against the dark backdrop of night. I used a long exposure to record the firefly light trails and a flash just before the shutter closed to “freeze” it in flight, resulting in this image of snowy window fireflies seemingly performing a ribbon dance in midair.

實際上為了拍攝這張作品，事前的想像及練習了不少次，但現場拍攝時過程仍然不易。首要原因是在近乎全黑的環境下，必須全程以手動對焦；加上為了拍出螢火蟲的光軌，得先進行長時間的曝光，最後在按下閃燈的前一刻，以「盲對焦」的方式將相機靠近主體。整個過程像是「追著螢火蟲跑」。為了彌補景深的問題，我選用放大倍率較大的廣角鏡進行拍攝，事後再進行畫面裁切，整張作品為一曝完成。

設定：8s/f9.0/ISO 1250並進行裁切、亮度、飽和度調整。
