During this educational activity, the basic functions of leaves are introduced. Children learn about leaves using their five senses. For example, they observe external characteristics such as direction of vein growth and color. They also experience the unique smells of leaves from different plants. Through touch, observations of leaf shape, leaf veins, and color, as well as smell, they learn to recognize plants. They also explore the diversity of leaves through classification and recording activities.
Through games and experiential activities, children are guided in an exploration of how sounds are produced. They learn how sound is transmitted and how our auditory organs receive sound, enabling them to perceive the subtle relationships between sounds and the body. They are shown how to use different types of musical instruments, along with accompanying actions. They collaborate with their peers to produce sound effects such as of rain, thunder, frogs croaking, and footsteps to accompany a script and experience beautiful combinations of and changes in rhythm. They have fun while exploring their musical and acoustic creativity.
The Children’s Discovery Room is set up to allow children to explore nature. In the foyer is a stimulating learning area. There are also building blocks, picture book reading, and submarine-themed audiovisual areas, with displays of minerals, fossils, marine organism specimens, plant specimens, and cultural objects. In the background are the calls of insects and birds or soft music to create a warm space and atmosphere. Pre-schools are welcome to make appointments for exclusive exploratory sessions for their students and teachers.
