變葉木是一種顏色豐富且多變的植物，在校園或公園十分容易見到。變葉木的葉片通常越老顏色就越深紅，新生的葉子則是綠色的。路過校園時，恰巧發現某株變葉木的葉脈呈現腳印狀，且葉子的排列角度，也是由內到外呈現老葉到新葉的順序。就如同駐足的葉脈，秋紅走過又即將迎接春綠的到來。

Variegated croton (Codiaeum variegatum) is a multi-colored, highly variable plant. It is commonly seen on school campuses and in parks. As the leaves age, they become deep red, while younger leaves are green. I happened to pass a school campus and discover this variegated croton with footprint-shaped vein patterns. The leaves were arranged from oldest to newest from inside to out. It appeared as if after the red of fall, the green of spring was ushered in.
